We made it Zhengzhou, Henan-eeks

the countdown has begun. It has been a full day for sure. we woke up early and went to a park near the white swan, tons of older people were doing their excercises "Tai Chi" it was really cool. some were in circles with a tape playing, some ladies had sword things and they were moving in unison, and a lot of people were doing their own thing. We even saw some people swimming in the water, not too sure that is a good idea.

We had an awesome breakfast and then got things ready to go. we met up with about 14 other couples and all loaded on a bus for the 45 minutes drive to the airport. They enjoyed hearing the wallet story and the fact the guy held it ransom for $1000 USD. The domestic area of the airport got more interesting. A lot more stares and different kinds of people. We even saw a little boy peeing on the floor down a little hallway. It was a little hectic figuring out where to check in so our guide grace took care of it. We did have a snafu, she told us gate 117 so we made it through security and walked a long way and it was hot! we then realized we needed to go to the other side of the airport. We made it but we were sweating it for a few minutes.

The flight introduced me to a smell that ranks up with the worst smelling foods ever. The guy in my row broke out his dried fish jerky. I think I turned green it was so nasty. He seemed to enjoy every last bit though. I also learned that I hate curry. The smell, taste everything, It ranks up there with pickles and mustard. We have traveled here with one other couple from florida they are so excited about their son who is from Lucy's orphanage too.

We had dinner tonight with them at the Crown Plaza we heard they had pizza. It was beautiful in there and i was starving. Ordered a sprite, no ice. We then had a little visitor.
a cockroach ran by me and across our table. yum. I felt the need to wash my hands it was so gross. You will be happy to know that I ate my pizza anyway-you know I was hungry.

This town is definitely true China. We can tell that they are not used to many visitors as they gaze and stare at us. Many many smiles though. People like to practice their "hello and good bye"
People are every where-bikes cars walkers electric scooters all over the sidewalk and streets. We did not dare cross the street-it was craziness. I can not imagine what it will be like with Lucy. :)

John is getting the money put in envelopes and getting gifts ready. We sort of packed a diaper bag. We are not sure what we are going to do with her but we will figure it out. They are driving her to this town in the morning and we should have her around 10 am. Can you stand it? We are a little bit nuts and happy at the same time. We will post pics and details when we can tomorrow. John is realizing he is a dad tomorrow and it is cute to see that.
Until then people. We are getting our GIRL!!!

PS I got tap water up my nose and it tasted gross.

I can't believe that your journey is almost over and Lucy will be a Bevacqua. We are soooo happy for you and can't wait to meet her. As I am sure you are aware of the more difficult the journey the more sweet it is when you arrive.

Just remember if the smell of curry makes you sick: it's just spices and Jackie really likes it so it isn't that bad!;) Fish Jerky is another story!
How are you going to sleep tonight? Can't wait to hear your gotcha story!

So happy you guys are at the point you dreamed of for years. We are just so happy for you. Let the crying begin.
Just say a few departing words to your wallet and set it free. Don't trust anyone "trying" to get it back for you too. Just set it free.....

Lots of hugs for you guys.....cathy
